New Delhi:

It was that time of the year when the legendary Dolby Theatre at Los Angeles became the Mecca of the entertainment world. In case you missed it, the Academy honoured South Korean satire ‘Parasite’ as ‘Best Picture’ and everyone’s favourite Joaquin Phoenix emerged as ‘Best Actor’ for his mind-blowing performance in Joker. Back home, the Congress turned the Oscars into a political spoof targeting the BJP. So, from ‘best actor in negative role’ to ‘best actor in an action role’, the Congress announced the Oscars with a jab at the BJP. In five tweets, the tongue-in-cheek ‘Awards’ slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The Congress didn’t even spare Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal!

“When things get dark, when the times are tough, we can all do with a little comedy to cheer us up. Fortunately, we have these timeless moments to get us through. Here are the nominations and winner for best actor in a Comedic role,” the Congress tweet said. The ‘nominees’ in this category were Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Delhi BJP Chief Manoj Tiwari and Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal. And the Congress awarded ‘best actor in a comedic role’ to Manoj Tiwari. “It takes "56 inches" of "sweat and tears" to win this award. Here are the nominees and winner for best actor in an Action role,” the other tweet said. The ‘nominees’ were Pragya Thakur, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. And the Congress awarded ‘best actor in an action role’ ‘Oscars’ to Prime Minister Modi.

All about the REAL OSCARS!

It was a night of snubs and surprises at the iconic Dolby Theatre in Los Angles. From being ‘too male’ to becoming ‘too political’, this year’s host-less Oscars saw some of the best talent in the entertainment world getting much-deserved accolades. The Oscars 2020 would also go down in history for becoming the first-ever Academy Award ceremony that honoured a non-English movie.
