In an expected twist, Lalu Yadav's son and daughter are likely to contest elections. Sources have revealed that Lalu's son Tejaswi is expected to contest polls from Patliputra constituency.

A significant meeting in this regerd has also been called by Rastriya Janta Dal (RJD) on Sunday, at Rabri Devi's 10, circular road, Patna, residence to decide it's future course of action as well as thrash out the technicalities to run the party on a day-to-day basis.

A special CBI court on Thursday awarded 5-year jail term to RJD chief and former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav. A fine of Rs 25 lakh has also been imposed on Lalu. The former union minister has been in jail since Monday, when he was found guilty of embezzlement along with other politicians.

He stands disqualified as Lok Sabha MP and will be barred from contesting elections for six years after he has served his prison term, according to a recent Supreme Court order.
