Coronavirus Live Updates: India reported 508 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, the government said on Tuesday. The total number of cases in India have risen to 4,789 while the number of deaths rose to 124 with 13 new ones. The growth is slower than Monday's when 704 new cases were reported but in line with that seen in the three days before it.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday announced Rs 50 lakh insurance cover for police personnel and other state government employees engaged in the fight against coronavirus. In a message on the official government Twitter handle, Chouhan said the Centre had announced Rs 50 lakh insurance cover to health workers, while the state government will provide the same to the police and officials of revenue, urban administration and other departments.
