The novel coronavirus has claimed over 5,500 lives and infected over 1,5 lakh people across 135 countries and territories, with the World Health Organisation describing the outbreak a pandemic. In India, the list of positive coronavirus cases as confirmed by the Union Health Ministry stood at 110. Italy on Sunday recorded 368 new deaths from the novel coronavirus, its highest one-day increase to date, taking the total to 1,809, the most outside China. The number of infections has reached 24,747, a count released to the media by Italy's civil protection service said.
