Coronavirus | Ramdev Pledges Rs 25 Crore To 'PM CARES Fund'

Yoga guru Ramdev has announced that he will donate Rs 25 crore to the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund). The ‘PM CARES Fund’ has been set up to tackle the coronavirus outbreak in the country. The yoga guru also said that all employees of his Patanjali and Ruchi Soya will donate their one-day salary to the relief fund. This will be Rs 1.5 crore in total.

Ramdev said he will provide two of his institutions in Haridwar and his ashrams in Kolkata, Solan (Himachal Pradesh) and Modinagar (Uttar Pradesh) for the treatment of coronavirus patients.

“About 1,500 suspects can be kept in isolation at these facilities together,” he said. Food will be provided by Patanjali at these places, he added.

Ramdev also appealed to his followers to contribute generously to the relief fund to fight against coronavirus.

Several celebrities and business tycoons are contributing to the PM Cares Fund, set up specifically to help the country fight the Coronavirus pandemic.

The CBSE Employees of Group A, B, and C, have also paid a part of their salary for the cause of the nation. After PM Narendra Modi urged the nation to contribute to the fund, people from all walks of society extended their support.

In a letter, CBSE offers its services to the nation. It states, 'The country is facing Corona Virus (COVID-19) pandemic' and calls it a pandemic of ‘unprecedented magnitude’ which poses serious health concerns for the country. It notes that not only is it a health hazard, but it is also detrimental to the life and economic security of millions of Indians.
