Delhi Man's Explosive Celebration For Daughter's Birth Near PM Residence Lands Him In Police Custody

Sound of explosions were heard by the SPG guards deployed at the Prime Minister’s Residence in New Delhi. The incident which happened on September 21 left the guards startled and they informed the Delhi police. Shortly after receiving the complaint, the Delhi police acted and traced the man to put him behind the bars.

An initial probe revealed the sound produced was of the crackers being burnt by a man blessed with a baby girl. The man, Vivek Kumar, lives in a make-shift house near a temple at the Teen Murti Marg, said a senior Police Officer. As the police reached spot, the man was found celebrating the birth of his daughter. 

Soon after the SPG guards heard blasts, more commandoes were rushed to the Prime Minister’s residence. Meanwhile, after hearing the sound of blasts, the SPG decided to apprise the Delhi police about the incident from their control room.

The police informed the man about the Supreme Court guidelines regarding the burning of crackers. However, a case was registered against the man in Delhi’s Chanakyapuri Police Station. Later, Vivek was released as his offence was bailable.
