New Delhi:

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday asserted that the very meaning of Bharat is to spread the message of peace and Dharma from time to time to ensure there is an equilibrium in the world for the well being of all. The statement from Mohan Bhagwat comes days after he said that the Sangh regards the 130 crore population of India as Hindu society, irrespective of their religion and culture.

Addressing a function organised by NCC Group which felicitated Deendayal Research Institute, set up under the guidance of Bharat Ratna late Nanaji Deshmukh, with the 'NCC Samashti Seva Puraskar' in Hyderabad, Bhagwat stated that 'Dharm' was India's purpose which would be relevant as long as the world exists and this makes India a nation with an eternal and ever-lasting mission.

"But, the purpose of India is ever-lasting. What is the purpose of India? India's purpose is to maintain universal balance through fostering peace, amity and harmony.... As long as the world exists, 'dharm' shall remain relevant and this is what makes India eternal and everlasting," he added.

The RSS chief further said, “The ancient traditional view of unity in diversity of the country is not searching for single commonality in hundred people gathered. Instead, our philosophy is the one divinity manifest in many.”

“This is the Vedic and Upanishadic view of the world where everyone and everything should live in peace and tranquillity is the meaning of the country's journey. This makes Bharat Chiranjeevi and Amarajeevi," he added.

He also noted that knowledge, wealth and strength acquired are meant to serve others. “Indian tradition does not ridicule people who create wealth but the Purushartha asks them to pay back to society. For, the famous Bhagawatham stresses that a person should not store more than what he can fill his stomach and those who store more is a thief,” he concluded.
