New Delhi:

In a series of developments, dissenting AAP leader Prashant Bhushan on Wednesday Bhushan offered to quit from all party posts, including from National Executive if the issues raised by him were not dealt by the National Convenor.

Sources confirmed that in the letter Bhushan offered to quit from AAP only if Arvind Kejriwal accepts his terms, which are quite similar to the points raised earlier by him.

His terms majorly include:

  • Bringing Swaraj into the party
  • Regularisation decision-making bodies such as the Parliamentary Affairs Committee
  • Bringing the party under RTI
  • Minutes of the meetings should be made available online
  • A communication network must be set between volunteers and authority figures
  • Autonomy must be given to state units
  • 7-8 posts lying vacant in the national executive for over two years must be filled to correct the gender imbalance

The letter was placed before AAP on Wednesday morning, however, reactions from Kejriwal and national secretary Pankaj Gupta are still awaited.

"We will not comment until the entire issue is solved. If Arvind Kejriwal said he will work for Delhi doesn't mean that AAP will not work on the national front," said Singh.

"The party is moving in a positive direction and the PAC's decision should be welcomed," he added.

Meanwhile, another AAP leader Ashutosh said that the PAC would make decisions on the basis of assessments.
