In this election year when all political parties are busy in strategising their agendas, Baba Ramdev has come up with a new mantra, which if implemented can change the demographics of the voters across India. Addressing an event in Aligarh, the Patanjali co-founder said that those with three children shouldn’t be allowed to vote. Not stopping at that, Baba Ramdev said that such people shouldn’t be allowed in government jobs. “Those who have more than 2 children, their voting rights should be taken away & they shouldn't be allowed to contest elections. Don't let them use govt schools, hospitals, & don't give them govt jobs. Population will be controlled automatically,” the yoga guru was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
Well this is not the first time that Baba Ramdev has come up with such a unique proposition. Last year in November, the yoga guru said that special rewards must be given to single/unmarried people. He had also suggested penalties for those who have more children.
"Special honours should be reserved for those who, like me, do not marry. And those who marry and give birth to more than two children, should have their voting rights taken Ramdev said at a function. On several occasions, the 53-year-old has attributed his success in life to bachelorhood. "I don't go around with the baggage (of having a family). I have created brands. I want to make 1,000 such brands which will make India the world's biggest economy by 2050," news agency Press Trust of India quoted him as saying at a function last year.
On work front, in a first-of-its-kind order, the Uttarakhand High Court had directed a company run by Yoga guru Ramdev to share a percentage of its profits with local farmers and communities. The high court gave the order while rejecting a petition of Divya Pharmacy against the Uttarakhand Biodiversity Board (UBB) and upholding the provisions of fair and equitable benefit-sharing as provided under the Biological Diversity Act, 2002. The bench of Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia held that it was a fact that biological resources constitute the main ingredient and raw materials in the manufacture of ayurvedic and nutraceutical products. It ordered the pharmacy to share Rs 2 crore out of its Rs 421-crore profit with the farmers of the raw product.
