New Delhi:
An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale jolted Assam on Wednesday morning. The tremors of the earthquake were also felt in West Bengal. There were no immediate reports of any damage or loss of life due to the earthquake.
The tremors of the potentially strong earthquake were felt for around 20-25 seconds in Kolkata, Siliguri in West Bengal and Purnea, Araria in Bihar.

This was the third earthquake in a day in the country. Earlier in the morning, an earthquake of magnitude 4.6 hit Jammu and Kashmir followed by another quake in Haryana’s Jhajjar.

Earlier on Sunday, earthquake tremors were felt in some parts of Delhi-NCR.
The tremors were felt across the national capital and adjoining Gurugram and people took to Twitter to share their experience. Some even claimed that it was "quite strong".
