Mild tremors were felt in Delhi NCR and in certain parts of North India. The frequency recorded in Surat showed a Richter scale measure of 3.2. The epicentre of the earthquake was in Hindukush, Afghanistan with a richter scale of 6.2. Also, massive tremors were felt in the part of Pakistan.

The earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale, was 248 km north of Peshawar. The tremors occurred at 4:00 PM and people in the national capital region rushed out of their homes.
