New Delhi:

A gunfight broke out between the security forces terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district on Wednesday. According to reports, two terrorists are suspected to be present at Bona Bazaar area of Shopian. 

The encounter broke out after security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area following specific inputs about the presence of terrorists.  

As the forces zeroed the suspected spot the hiding terrorists fired upon them triggering an encounter. The exchange of firing is going on and there is no report of any casualty on either side so far, the official said.

Earlier on July 17, an unidentified terrorists was killed in an encounter with security forces in the Sopore area of Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.

The encounter between the security forces and terrorists broke out after the law enforcement agencies launched a cordon-and-search operation in Sopore, based on credible inputs about the presence of ultras in the area, a police spokesperson said.
