Around 300 vehicles were gutted in a fire that broke outside the Aero India venue in Bengaluru on Saturday. According to reports, no casualties have been reported and the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. A giant plume of smoke was seen at the venue of the event after the end of the morning aerobatics display. The fire has been fully extinguished now.Â
More than 10 fire engines have been deployed to put out the blaze. Some reports suggest that fire could have started after a lit cigarette was thrown into the dry grass. Today is the fourth day of Aero India show. DGP Fire Services M N Reddi said the fire spread rapidly due to dry grass and strong winds.Â
"#AeroShowOpenParkingAreaFire Totally about 100 cars burnt in the fire. Fire spread is controlled by creating a gap by removing adjacent cars. Fire under control now. No injuries or any harm to people reported. Likely cause: dry grass fire aided by heavy winds," Reddi said in a tweet.

Reports say that the show was stopped for a brief period of time because of the fire. The fire is near the AFS Yelahanka Gurudwara near Bharati Nagar Gate.Â
Seven ambulances have been stationed at the site and the area has been cordoned off. Cops have reached the spot to initiate the investigation.
Earlier on Wednesday, the two Hawk airplanes collided mid-air and crashed, killing Wing Commander Sahil Gandhi and injuring Wing Commander V T Shelke and Squadron Leader TJ Singh.
The two injured had successfully ejected from the plane but sustained grievous injuries.
