Ranchi:

Jharkhand High Court on Thursday rejected Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo and ex-Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav's bail plea in a fodder scam case.

The lower court had on September 30 found Yadav and 44 others guilty in the RC20A/96 case pertaining to fraudulent withdrawal of RS 37.7 crore from Chaibasa Treasury during his RJD regime in the 1990s and pronounced varying prison sentences against them on October 3.

Laloo Prasad Yadav, along with 44 other accused, was convicted on 30 September 2013, by Central Bureau of Investigation court at Ranchi, after found guilty in fraudulent withdrawal of Rs.37 crores from Chaibasa treasury.

Several other politicians, IAS officers were also convicted in the case.
