New Delhi:

Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Friday raised the issue of Goa elections in the Rajya Sabha and demanded a disussion on the conduct of Goa Governor Mridula Sinha, who invited BJP over Congress to form the government in the state after  hung assembly.

Before the session, Digvijaya Singh told media that he will raise the issue of Goa elections and subsequent 'hijacking of results by BJP' in front of President Pranab Mukherjee.

"Narendra Modi is not god, he can be stopped. For that political will is needed among parties who are against communal forces," Digvijaya said.

Speaking to a new agency on Friday, Singh said that Goa Governor should not have taken a call from Arun Jaitley before calling on majority party Congress to form the government.

"Going to raise in Parliament and petition to the President on the conduct of Governor, Goa," he said.

Raising suspicion on the behaviour of MLA Vishvajeet Rane, Digvijay said that even though Rane signed a whip at 10am on Thursday he was missing during the floor test two hours later.

Digvijay Singh spearheaded Congress' campaign in Goa Assembly elections and managed to get 17 party MLAs elected against BJP's 13 only to lose to later in the post-result political game.
