New Delhi:

BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on Wednesday said it was good to see Shiv Sena sticking with its Hindutva ideology as the party supported Citizenship Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha and abstained from voting in the Rajya Sabha. He went on to suggest BJP to open talks with the Shiv Sena and bring them back to the NDA bloc.

Taking to Twitter Swamy posted that BJP should offer CM’s post to Shiv Sena for two and a half years.

The Shiv Sena after supporting Modi government’s contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha decided to walk out of the Rajya Sabha before voting.

Addressing Rajya Sabha on Wednesday, Home Minister Amit Shah took a dig at Shiv Sena as he said, “I am surprised how people change colours for the greed of power. In Lok Sabha, Shiv Sena supported this bill but now not only me, but the people of Maharashtra also want to know what happened overnight that they have changed their stand."

The Sena does not need to prove how “staunch Hindu” and “patriotic” the party is, Sanjay Raut said while participating in a debate on the Bill in the Upper House.

Recently, Shiv Sena formed government in Maharashtra along with the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). With the support of 169 MLAs, the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government of the Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress alliance formed government in Maharashtra Assembly.
