The Modi-led Central government is all geared up to auction properties of India’s most wanted man and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim for auction.

Ministry of Finance has put up an advertisement auctioning the properties of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim for auction on November 14.

The Ministry of Finance under SAFEMA (Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators) Forfeiture of Properties Act is auctioning Dawood six properties.

The Ministry has put up an advertisement for auctioning five properties and two property listed for the auctioning belongs to Dawood and family.

This is part of the government’s continuing efforts to curb Ibrahim’s operations in India.

One of the properties enlisted for auctioning is Dawood’s Mubai’s Damarwala building room number 18-20, 25. 26 and 28. The building is located at Pakmoida Street and Yakub street.

Damarwala building is the same building from where Dawood brother Iqbal Kaskar was arrested in connection with an extortion case. It is said that Dawood’s sister also owns a flat in this building.

The second building owned by Dawood in the auction list is the infamous Hotel Raunaq Afroz in Mumbai’s Bhendi Bazaar.

According to reports that the hotel was notoriously known fas Dawood’s hangout place.

The properties are up for auction at a reserve price of Rs 1.55 crore.

According to intelligence sources Dawood is currently in Pakistan, while the neighbouring country has regularly denied his presence.

Dawood is the main accused in the 1993 serial bomb blasts case in Mumbai in which around 260 people were killed, and more than 700 suffered injuries.
