New Delhi:
The government on Wednesday gave a green signal to acquiring Electronic Warfare Systems at the cost of Rs 330 cr Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), in a bid to bolster the capacity of the Army to face low intensity conflict in Jammu and Kashmir. The decision comes following the terrorist attack at an Army base camp in Uri, which left 18 soldiers martyred.
DAC, which is the apex decision making body in the Defence Ministry, cleared proposals worth over Rs 19,000 crore at a meeting, ANI quoted sources as saying.

#DAC gave its nod for the purchase of Anti-Tank Guided Munition (ATGM) for the training purposes, the proposal will cost Rs 405 crore
#A repair facility for Naval dockyard, Mumbai will be set up for soon to be inducted Scorpene submarines at the cost Rs 725 crore
#Another proposal for setting up weapon repair facility also got DAC approval. Facility will be set Port Blair at cost of Rs 450 crore
