‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans were posted on an old website of the Goa BJP after it was hacked by unknown persons on Monday. The cyber attacked was carried out by a group called “Team PCE”. An individual’s name “Mohammad Bilal” was also posted on the website page.
After defacing the website, the hackers left a mail address - mailto:email@example.com.
Reacting to the incident, a BJP IT cell functionary said that the hacked website was an old one, adding that the new Goa BJP website had the anti-hacking security measures.
The functionary said that BJP Goa general secretary Sadanand Tanavade had refused to divulge the details of the cyber-attack, therefore, the party didn’t file any police complaint regarding this.
This was not the first time the website of a state BJP unit was hacked. In April this year, the website of the BJP's Jammu and Kashmir unit was also hacked.
