New Delhi:

Addressing the Maharashtra Assembly on Sunday, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said he will not call Devendra Fadnavis an ‘opposition leader’, but ‘responsible leader’. “I have learnt a lot of things from Devendra Fadnavis and I will always be friends with him. I am still with the ideology of 'Hindutva' and won't ever leave it. In past 5 years, I've never betrayed the government”, added CM Uddhav.

Reiterating his stand on Hindutva, CM Uddhav said, “I am still with the ideology of 'Hindutva' and won't ever leave it. In past 5 years, I've never betrayed the government.”

CM Uddhav launched a scathing attack on Fadnavis, as he added, “If you would have been good to us then, BJP-Shiv Sena split would have not happened.” “I am a lucky CM because those who opposed me are now with me and those who I was with are now on the opposite side. I am here with my luck and blessings of people. I have never told anyone that I will be coming here but I came”, said Uddhav.

Earlier, BJP legislature party leader Devendra Fadnavis was named as Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly.

The announcement was made by Speaker Nana Patole in the House. Patole said that the BJP is being accorded the status of opposition party in the Assembly and Fadnavis would be the new Leader of Opposition. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and ministers greeted former CM Fadnavis after Patole made the announcement.
