Amid Lockdown And Detentions, J-K Block Development Council Polls On October 24

The Jammu and Kashmir State Election Commission on Sunday announced that Block Development Council (BDC) elections would be held on October 24. The notification for the election will be issued on October 1 while October 9 will be the last date for filing of nominations, chief electoral officer Jammu and Kashmir Shailendra Kumar told reporters. “The scrutiny of nominations will be done on October 10, the last date for withdrawal is October 11 while the polling for these posts will be held on October 24,” Kumar said. Maharashtra Assembly Polls: Aaditya Thackeray To Contest From Worli, First From Family To Fight Election

Capping days of speculation, the Shiv Sena on Sunday said it has decided to field Aaditya Thackeray, the elder son of party chief Uddhav Thackeray, from the Worli assembly constituency in Mumbai. With this, Aaditya has become the first member of the Thackeray clan ever to contest an election. Talking to PTI, a close aide of Sena chief said, “Aaditya Thackeray’s name has been finalised for the Worli assembly segment. Haryana Assembly Election: JJP Releases List Of 15 Candidates For October 21 Polls

The Jannayak Janata Party (JJP), led by Dushyant Chautala, on Monday released a list of 15 candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections in Haryana scheduled to be held on October 21. Of the 15 nominees for the poll, two have been named from reserved constituencies - Sadhaura and Nilokheri.
