New Delhi:

Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday watched the movie, "Uri: The Surgical Strike", along with a group of war veterans at Central Spirit Mall in Bengaluru's Bellandur. The senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader took to Twitter to share the news and was all praise for the film's cast.

"What a power-packed movie... Brilliant performances Yami Gautam, Vicky Kaushal, Paresh Rawal, Mohit Raina. Recharged also by the energy in the cinema hall! #HighJosh," Sitharaman tweeted.

In a series of tweets, the Defence Minister shared videos of her movie-viewing experience along with veterans at a Bengaluru mall in the city's southeastern suburb. The Defence Minister also tweeted a video of her repeating a famous line from the film, "How's the josh?", as the audience screamed "High sir".

Aditya Dhar's "Uri: The Surgical Strike", starring Vicky Kaushal, is a dramatisation of the Army's operation against terrorist camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in 2016, in retaliation to an attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Uri that killed 17 Army personnel.

On January 16, Nirmala Sitharaman met the cast and crew of "Uri: The Surgical Strike" on the occasion of Army Day. Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam, director Aditya Dhar and producer Ronnie Screwvala were part of the meeting that took place at Army Chief General Bipin Rawat's 'at home' function.

Sitharaman took to Twitter to congratulate the film's team about which she has been "hearing many good things". "At COAS Bipin Rawat's #ArmyDay 'at home', with the team of the film #URITheSurgicalStrike.

"Yet to watch it, but hearing many good things. Kudos, @RonnieScrewvala @AdityaDharFilms @vickykaushal09 @yamigautam for a slick war movie on the spirit of our heroes! #howsthejosh?," the union minister tweeted, along with some photos from the event.

The actors said they were honoured to make the acquaintance of the minister. "It was an honour meeting you Ma'am," Kaushal wrote in a reply to Sitharaman's post. “We are honoured to meet you Ma'am.... and thanks so much for your encouraging words. What you do for the nation is incomparable," tweeted Gautam.
