New Delhi:

Two accused in the 2007 Hyderabad twin blasts case - Aneeq Shafeeq Sayeed and Mohammad Akbar Ismail Chaudhary were convicted while two others accused in the case were acquitted by the Metropolitan Session Judges (MSJ) court on Tuesday.

The verdict in the 2007 Hyderabad twin blasts case in Gokul Chat and Lumbini Park was pronounced by the special court on Tuesdya morning , while the judgment on one more accused will be announced on Monday.

Meanwhile, Farooq Sharfudding Tarish and Mohammad Sadiq Israr Ahmen have been acquitted.

All five accused – all alleged Indian Mujahideen operators- Mohammed Akbar Ismail Chowdhari, Tarik Anjum, Mohammed Sadiq Israr Ahmed Shaik, Aneeq Shafique Sayeed, and Farooq Sharfuddin Tarkash – are lodged in Charlapalli Jail, while two other accused Riyaz Bhatkal and Iqbal Bhatkal are absconding.

Earlier, the Telangana Police’s Counter Intelligence department had arrested the five accused and filed four charge sheets. All were charged under relevant sections of the Explosive Substances Act and Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in connection to the 2007 Hyderabad Twin Blasts.

The twin blasts occurred at the famous eatery in Hyderabad, Gokul Chat and the Lumbini Park, killing around 40 people.
