Hours after the Indian Air Force (IAF)'s 12 Mirage 2000 fighter jets killed as many as 350 Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists, Fidayeen and their trainers across the LoC, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said, "I never reveal my plan before being executed". The prime minister was addressing at the National Youth Parliament Festival after conferring awards to winners at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. Over 50,000 youth participated in the festival that was organised by National Service Scheme and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan under the aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. Winners of National Youth Parliament Festival 2019 share their thoughts during the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, PM Modi appreciated the efforts of the Youth Ministry for organising the event. Launching the Khelo India app at the event, Modi said application is aimed at creating greater awareness about fitness and sports among youth. The application is a first-of-its-kind sports application that makes for valuable information for readers.

Here are the Highlights from PM Modi's address at the National Youth Parliament Festival:

- Today's youth is ready for multi-tasking. They are full of ambition because they want to move faster, this is the basis of New India. Our government is making all efforts to generate self confidence in the youth, says the prime minister.

- During the 16th Lok Sabha, average productivity was 85%, nearly 205 bills were passed. 'The 16th Lok Sabha worked 20% more, in comparison to 15th Lok Sabha. While, Rajya Sabha's performance was only 8%. But I am not satisfied with it. If Modi is there, then it should be 200 percent: PM Modi at National Youth Parliament Festival.

In January 2019, Sports and youth affairs minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore launched the National Youth Parliament Festival on the occasion of National Youth Day in order to encourage the youth in the age group of 18-25 years to engage with public issues and understand the common man's point of view.

The Youth of the country were invited to participate in the district, state and national level Youth Parliaments. Rathore inaugurated the National Level Finals of National Youth Parliament Festival on Tuesday at Dr Ambedkar International Centre in the national capital.

The best three speakers at the National Youth Parliament have been awarded Rs 2 lakhs, Rs 1.50 lakhs and Rs 1 lakh respectively in order of merit along with a certificate by PM Modi. Rest 53 speakers are given certification of participation at the event.

According to a statement from the ministry, PM Modi in his Mann Ki Baat address on December 3, 2017 shared his idea of organising Youth Parliaments for young people in every district of the country. It is to provide a chance to the youth to brainstorm about New India and to find ways and chalk out plans to realise the country's resolves before 2022, the release added.

The prime minister reiterated his idea to capture the voice of the youth in his address to the youth during the 22nd National Youth Festival on January 12, 2018. National Youth Parliament Festival 2019 has been jointly organised by National Service Scheme (NSS) and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) under the aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, on the theme of "Be the Voice of New India" and "Find solutions and contribute to policy".
