New Delhi:

Haryana bureaucrat Ashok Khemka, who raised the issue of land deal involving Congress president Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra, has been promoted by Haryana Government.

Khemka has been promoted to the Principal Secretary.

In the Vadra-DLF land case, Khemka had alleged that Sonia’s son-in-law’s firm sold land of worth Rs. 3.5 crores to DLF for Rs. 58 Crores.

After the case came to light, Khemka faced a no. of transfers by the then Congress Government, making him the most transferred IAS officer ever.

Khemka was transferred for 45th time in April in BJP’s regime.

This time Mr Khemka tweeted that the moment was "truly painful" for him.

Mr Khemka was then removed as Transport Commissioner and shifted to the low profile Archaeology and Museums Department, the same department to which the previous Congress government had moved him.
