New Delhi:

US President Barack Obama’s sapling of Ficus Religiosa species, which was planted by him during his memorial of Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Ghat in New Delhi, is dying.

According to the photograph on the site, the sapling is on the verge of 'dying', probably due to lack of proper care.

However, the gardener has a different story to tell. According to him, “the leaves have fallen due to changing weather.”

Notably, the sapling was planted by Obama, who was the chief guest at the annual Republic Day parade on January 26.

His sapling was planted in parallel to the one planted by former US president Bill Clinton during his own visit in 2000.
