The Indian Army, nowadays, is leading from the front in battling against coronavirus breakout in the country and Pakistan’s unprovoked ceasefire violation. Amid coronavirus outbreak, Pakistani forces for the second consecutive day on Tuesday initiated an unprovoked ceasefire violation on the forward posts along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. It is to be noted that Pakistani forces fired mortars along LoC in Mankote sector at around 7.40 am (IST). The Indian Army is giving a befitting reply.

Meanwhile, the Indian Army has extended its support in the country’s fights against novel coronavirus breakout. The Army has opened several hospitals at its command base. Also, the Indian Army has launched cyber-security exercises to tackle as many as 4,000 fraud portals related to coronavirus.

Coming to Pakistan’s ceasefire violation, this comes a day after Indian security personnel foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district and killed five terrorists. During the operation, 5 soldiers also lost their lives.

The soldiers who lost their lives have been identified as Subedar Sanjeev Kumar of Himachal Pradesh, Haveldar Davendra Singh of Uttarakhand, paratrooper Bal Krishan of Himachal Pradesh, Paratrooper Amit Kumar of Uttarakhand and Chhatrapal Singh of Rajasthan.

Also, the Pakistani Army had on Monday violated the ceasefire and resorted to small arms firing and mortar shelling along the LoC in the Mankote area. On Friday, the Pakistani Army violated the ceasefire in Sunderbani-Nowshera sector injuring six security personnel.

According to Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik, there were a total of 646 incidents of ceasefire violations along the Indo-Pakistan International Border (IB) as well as the Line of Control (LoC) between January 1 and February 23, 2020. Last year, more than 3,200 ceasefire violations by Pakistan troops were recorded.
