New Delhi:

While the tensions between India and Pakistan are very high, there is a constant war of words of going on Twitter between Indian and Pakistani social media users.

On Tuesday, a social media user who tried to defame India through the Muslim identity of an Army veteran got a befitting reply. Lieutenant General Syed Ata Hasnain (retd) silenced the troll after the user on Twitter cited an article of the retired officer to raise the alleged intolerance in Indian society.

However, the retired lieutenant general shut him down with a brilliant reply.

The user, who seems to be from Pakistan, wrote on Twitter, "I read an article about how you were trolled on social media for being a Muslim. Irrespective of your services for your country, felt sorry for you."

To this, he replied, "Don't feel sorry because 99% of my friends are Hindu, Sikh and Christian. 100 % of my troops were Hindu. Yet I remain Muslim because my nation lets me be a Muslim."

The whole conversation happened after the Lt Gen Hasnain criticised former Pakistan ambassadors Ashraf Jahangir Qazi, Abdul Basit and Shahid Malik for contending that Pakistan must support armed resistance in Kashmir and said 'diplomats recommending  violence is sacrilege to their profession.'
