The Indian Army contingent participating in the Indo-China joint training exercise 'HAND IN HAND 'arrived at Chengdu, China on Tuesday.
The Indian contingent is led by Brigadier DS Shishodia and Colonel Gaurav Srivastava is the commanding officer.
The joint training exercise 'HAND IN HAND' is a counter terrorist exercise with a purpose of exploring useful experience and thoughts, advance pragmatic co-operation, promote friendly environment and enhance mutual trust.
The joint training exercise between the two countries is one of the major bilateral defence cooperation and is third in the series which started in 2007. The first was held at Kuming, China in Dec 2007 while the second was held at Belgaum, India in Nov 2008.
On arrival at the exercise area the ceremonial band of the PLA extended warm welcome playing mesmerising tunes. The contingent commanders and the soldiers of the two nations exchanged pleasantries.
