New Delhi:

The Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) National Council will meet today where a crucial decision is expected on the fate of senior leaders Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan.

National Council is the highest policy-making body of the party, with over 350 voting members. Many founding members have left the party since its formation; others have been brought it to the team.

Senior party leaders Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav have alleged that the lack of clarity is being used in the party to manipulate things. They also alleged many unauthorised people were invited, and many members not being sent invites. However, Bhushan has also claimed he was never given the list of NC members.

The duo Yadav and Bhushan have asked for the meeting to be videographed, and Anand Kumar wants it webcasted for the people. But party leader Sanjay Singh has clearly said that the rebels can’t decide rules and the NC would decide its procedures.

Thus far, the numbers seem tilted towards Kejriwal as the influential Delhi and UP state units are loyal to him, and for many across the country acknowledge he is the party’s undisputed leader.

Yadav and Bhushan could be forced out, or might resign on their own from the party. Or, the party could split with Kejriwal, like he said in the tape, breaking away to form his own. On the other hand, even Yadav, Anand Kumar and Bhushan could form their own outfit to counter Kejriwal.

The infightings will give a chance the opposition to slam the new party.
