Jharkhand: Police recover Rs 5.60 lakh in demonetised currency at Giridih

Giridih:

Police on Friday recovered Rs 5.7 lakhs, Rs. 5.60 lakh of which was in demonetised currency, during a vehicle checking drive at Taratand in Giridih district, a senior police officer said.

In course of vehicle checking, the police arrested a person, who was a resident of Gawan of the district, and recovered Rs.5.60 lakh in Rs. 500 and 1000 currency notes, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Manish Toppo said.

Police also recovered Rs.10,000 in new currency notes from one of his friends and detained that person, he said.

Police also recovered two pan cards and an Aadhaar card, he said.
