India enters Guinness world record leaving Pakistan behind, after successfull plantation of over 50 million trees in 24 hours

India plants over 50 million trees

Current Guinness world record has been build by the most impenetrable populated state of India, Uttar Pradesh. Personages of U.P. made a record after planting over 50 million trees in 24 hours which is one of the highest number of trees plantation activity covered in at the end of the day. The main purpose was to increase the evacuate forest cover in the state.

Alternatively 8,000 participants took part for the world record and started planting trees in the city of Kannauj, 250 kilometers southwest of the state capital, Lucknow. Entire trees were planted on the spots that was fixed along the roads sides, railway tracks, and forest lands.

According to the officials its has been said that planting over 50 million trees is a small effort to curb global warming and increasing global temperature, but it will definitely have a positive impact on the environment.

“The world has realized that serious efforts are needed to reduce carbon emissions to mitigate the effects of global climate change. Uttar Pradesh has made a beginning in this regard,” said Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

Throughout the historic Paris climate meet last year, India had pledged to increase the forest cover of 235 million acres by 2030. To achieve the goal, our central government has also allocated $6.2 billion just for planting new trees.

Senior forest official Sanjeev Saran told AP that aerial photograph will monitor the trees that have been planted at regular intervals. Monitoring of plantation is compulsory as in such mass plantation only 60 percent plants survive and rest die due to lack of water.

Formerly, the record was held by the Pakistan which planted 8,47,275 trees in 24 hours back in 2013. Nevertheless, U.P. took an upswing and  upgraded the figures by a stupendous periphery. According to the officials of Guinness World Records the plantation drive were under their supervision to keep a check on the numbers.
