New Delhi:
India has won flag war with Pakistan after hoisting the tricolour a day before Pakistan unfurled its 400 feet flag on its side of the border.
The Tricolour was hoisted at the Attari border in March this year. However, it got damaged due to strong winds. The flag was taken off in May and it was decided not to unfurl the same until a permanent solution was found.
On the other hand, Pakistan began work on its flag project and decided to hoist a 400 feet high flag on its side of the border.
Pakistan had decided to hoist the flag on August 14 which is its independence day. India, however, decided to beat Pakistan and went ahead and hoisted the Tricolour a day before on Sunday. However, this flag will not be a permanent feature and it would unfurl till August 16.
Until a permanent solution is found, the flag will be hoisted only on important occasions. The administration has now reduced the length and breadth of the flag from 120X80 ft to 90X60 ft.
