The Supreme Court bench, headed by CJI Ranjan Gogoi, has asked the Karnataka Speaker to inform the court of the developments by Friday, when the court will resume its hearing on rebel MLAs' plea. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will appear before a metropolitan magistrate's court today for the hearing of a criminal defamation suit filed against him by Ahmedabad District Cooperative Bank and its chairman Ajay Patel. The Supreme Court today will hear a Public Interest Litigation petition challenging the decision of the Delhi Government to install CCTV cameras in classrooms of schools administered by the government.

 Case registered against actress Sonakshi Sinha at Katghar Police Station under sections 420 (cheating) and 406 of IPC. In 2018, she had taken Rs 24 lakh for a stage performance but didn't turn up. Police went to her residence in Mumbai, yesterday but she wasn't present then.

8.40 am: 35 cattle found dead at a temporary shelter at Kandi village in Bahadurpur. Bhanu Chandra Goswami, District Magistrate says, "Prima facie it appears that 35 cattle have died due to lightning, treatment for others underway."
