Prime Minister Narendra Modi will briefly visit Sri Lanka during which he will hold discussions with President Maithripala Sirisena. This visit to Sri Lanka will be his second international visit since becoming Prime Minister for the second term. The national executive of the JD(U) will meet in Patna, Bihar. The JDU is likely to take decision if they will contest Assembly election in Jharkhand. Heatwave continues to effect normal life in North India. Amid new peace overtures from the Imran Khan government after the re-election of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the White House has made it clear to Pakistan that the onus for sustained peace in South Asia was on it by putting the terror groups out of business.

10.11 pm: School Education Department, Madhya Pradesh: Schools which were scheduled to re-open on June 16 after summer holidays, will now re-open on June 23 because of the prevailing heat.

10.05 pm: DCP, Mumbai Police: 1 dead and 5 injured after a car hit people standing at Zakaria Bunder bus stop in Sewri,today. Injured have been taken to KEM Hospital. Accused driver arrested. Accused and his wife also received injuries in the accident. Investigation underway.

9.52 pm: Meteorological experts have predicted that monsoon will enter in Mumbai along with Konkan during this period. Meteorology department has appealed to fishermen to avoid entering in the Arabian Sea on June 11-12.

9.50 pm: Directorate General of Information and Public Relations, Maharashtra: Meteorological experts have predicted that a cyclone may occur in the Arabian Sea near the west coast of India between June 11 and 12. The cyclone will be around 300 km away from the coast of the state.

9.31 pm: Kochi: Rain lashed parts of the city earlier today after monsoon hit Kerala yesterday.

9.30 pm: Coimbatore: Water bodies go dry and groundwater levels recede as heat wave conditions persist in the city. A local says,'We have been witnessing monsoon failure for past 3 seasons. Urge govt to clean all ponds and tanks and construct more check dams to save water during rains.'

9.03 pm: Delhi: Minister of State for Railways Suresh Angadi conducted inspection at Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station, earlier today. Delhi BJP Chief Manoj Tiwari was also present.

8.22 pm: Kushinagar: A minor girl was allegedly gang-raped by six men, yesterday. Ramdas Prasad, CO City says,'6 people have been arrested, a case has been registered, girl has been sent for a medical check-up; further investigation underway.'

8.20 pm: Akash Kulhari, SSP Aligarh on protest in Tappal demanding justice in the murder case of 2.5-year-old girl: Police was deployed to maintain law and order situation. No lathi charge done. All the accused who are involved in the case have been arrested.

8.17 pm: Tirupati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy offer prayers to Lord Venkateshwara at Tirumala temple.

7.14 pm: During investigation, it was revealed that accused along with his associates had conspired to procure Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) from Bangladesh and supply it from Malda in West Bengal to Bengaluru and other parts of Karnataka for circulation using couriers, reported news agency ANI.

7.12 pm: National Investigation Agency arrested accused Sabiruddin from Malda, West Bengal yesterday in connection with Bengaluru case of FICN worth Rs 6,84,000. One mobile handset and personal documents seized. Court sent him on 4 days transit remand today.
