New Delhi:

The decomposed body of VG Siddhartha, founder of India's largest Coffee chain Cafe Coffee Day and son-in-law of former union minister SM Krishna, was found on Wednesday morning on the banks of Netravati River near Hoige Bazaar in Mangaluru. Siddhartha went missing mysteriously since Monday night en route to the coastal Mangaluru city in Karnataka. His body was recovered after 36 hours of massive search operation. Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are likely to Unnao rape victim in Lucknow today. The central government on Tuesday handed over to the CBI the probe into the truck-car collision that left the Unnao rape victim critically injured, even as the Opposition stepped up its attack on the ruling BJP.

4 pm: The Delhi Police on Wednesday informed the Supreme Court that 489 Bangladeshi immigrants were detained and 480 were deported from India between January 1, 2016 - April 30, 2018. The police also informed the court that it has not detained and deported any Rohingya during this period.

UP Minister Ranvendra Pratap Singh on name of his son-in-law included in the FIR by CBI in accident case of Unnao rape survivor: CBI is investigating the matter. Everything will be clear in the investigation. He is my relative there is no doubt it, but that is not a crime.

The team of PS Bindapur, Dwarka district has arrested 10 African nationals for running a call centre and cheating people online. Case registered under section 420 of the Indian Penal Code; further investigation underway.

 CRPF dog Ajaxi today found a man trapped under debris of landslide that occurred last night near milestone 147 on Jammu-Srinagar highway. On cue from Ajaxi, CRPF personnel of 72nd Battalion rescued the man.

12 pm: 
Subir Gokarn, the eminent economist and former deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of India, died. He was 60. Shamika Ravi, the member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM), took to Twitter to confirm the tragedy. "I share this with a heavy heart...Subir Gokarn, my friend and colleague, passed away a few hours back," Ravi said on micro-blogging site.

Chief Justice of India (CJI), Ranjan Gogoi has given permission to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to file a corruption case against a sitting Allahabad High Court judge, Justice SN Shukla. The case will be filed under the Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA).
