The Supreme Court on Tuesday morning passed an order on the issue of floor test for the Maharashtra government led by Devendra Fadnavis whose swearing-in has been challenged by Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress combine. In its verdict, Supreme Court said that Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will have to prove his majority on Wednesday. The top court ruled out the secret ballot and said that all MLAs should take oath by 5 pm and the floor test should be conducted immediately after that. The apex court said that the Protem Speaker will conduct the floor test. Soon after the Supreme Court’s verdict, the reactions started pouring in. Take a look:

NCP chief Sharad Pawar said, "I am grateful to Hon’ble SC for upholding democratic values and constitutional principles. It’s heartening that the Maharashtra Verdict came on the #ConstitutionDay, a Tribute to Bharatratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar!". 

Senior Advocate Devadutt Kamat for Congress-NCP-Shiv Sena: SC has directed Floor Test tomorrow at 5pm, to be conducted by Pro-tem Speaker. During Floor Test, there will be no secret ballot and proceedings will be telecast live.

Sonia Gandhi said, "We (Congress-NCP-Shiv Sena) will win Maharashtra floor test, ordered tomorrow by Supreme Court."

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that Supreme Court has given us 30 hours. "If we were given only 30 minutes, we would still be grateful," he added.

Congress tweets, "We welcome the Supreme Court decision to hold the Maharashtra Floor Test tomorrow. This is a victory for the #ConstitutionofIndia, a victory for democracy & a victory of the truth."

Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan: Tomorrow, at 11 am, members to take oath and at 5pm Pro-tem Speaker to hold Floor Test in Maharashtra Assembly. All 3 parties (Congress-NCP-Shiv Sena) are satisfied with the Supreme Court order. Devendra Fadnavis should resign today.

NCP leader Nawab Malik on SC orders Floor Test in Maharashtra Assembly on Nov 27: Today's verdict of the SC is a milestone in Indian democracy. Before 5 pm tomorrow, it will be clear that BJP's game is over. In a few days, there will a govt of Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress in Maharashtra.
