Bhopal:

The Madhya Pradesh Assembly has been adjourned till Thursday following a massive uproar by the Congress Party over the Vyapam scam.

The Congress MLAs staged a walkout from the assembly and demanded the resignations of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Governor Ram Naresh Yadav.

"The way the Vyapam scam has unravelled and the Chief Minister and the Governor and his son's name has come up as the accused, the Congress is demanding the resignations of the Governor and the Chief Minister, that is why we have staged a walkout," said Congress MLA Jeetu Patwari.

Earlier on Monday, Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh had alleged that Chief Minister Chouhan's name was replaced by Union Minister Uma Bharti and others in the Vyapam case.

Singh alleged that Chouhan's name was replaced in the excel-sheet submitted by the Special Task Force in the court, apparently to shield him in the case.

The Congress leader said that he had filed a statement under oath before the High Court appointed Special Investigation Team (SIT) that the words 'CM' occurred at 48 places which was altered to just 'minister' at 21 places, then 'Uma Bharti' at 18 places and 'Ms' at one place.

Chouhan, however, rubbished the allegations, saying they were baseless and made out of frustration.
