Muslim side not satisfied with Ayodhya verdict, will explore legal options: Zafaryab Jilani

New Delhi:

Shortly after the Supreme Court pronounced the landmark Ayodhya verdict, Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board's Zafaryab Jilani said that the Muslim side was not satisfied with the judgment, saying it has a lot of contradictions and they will seek a review of it. "The Ayodhya verdict holds no value for us. We are dissatisfied with the verdict. It has lot of contradictions. We will seek a review," senior advocate Jilani said. He categorically said that the allotment of 5 acre land at n alternate site was on no value to the Muslims. Be it 5 acre or 500 acre, it doesn’t matter. The mosque cannot be exchanged in lieu of anything, Jilani said. (LIVE UPDATES)

“We will file a review petition if our committee agrees on it. It is our right and it is in Supreme Court's rules as well,” Jilani added.

The apex court on Saturday cleared the way for the construction of a Ram Temple at the disputed site at Ayodhya, and directed the Centre to allot a 5-acre plot to the Sunni Waqf Board for building a mosque.  The Supreme Court concluded a 40-day hearing in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit on October 16 and reserved its verdict on the disputed 2.77 acres of land in Ayodhya.
