New Delhi:

Nagaland Governor PB Acharya on Wednesday invited TR Zeliang to take oath as as Chief Minister of state at 3:00 PM. Acharya asked him prove majority on or before July 22.

Earlier on Tuesday, a special session has been convened of the state assembly after the Gauhati High Court on Tuesday dismissed Shurhozelie Liezietsu’s plea to stay the Governor PB Acharya’s directive to him to seek a trust vote.

Acharya directed Speaker Imtiwapang to summon an emergent special session of the state assembly at 9.30 AM for the chief minister, who is facing a rebellion from his party MLAs, to seek the confidence vote.

The Nagaland Assembly on Wednesday adjourned sine die resulting in postponement of Floor test. Floor test did not take place because of unavailability of Chief Minister Shurhozelie Liezietsu.
