Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and cricketer Sachin Tendulkar congratulated ace shuttler PV Sindhu after she won the Korea Open Super Series title in Seoul on Sunday.

Sindhu defeated world champion Japanese badminton player Nozomi Okuhara to clinch the women's singles title 22-20 11-21 20-18 match which last for an hour and 23 minutes.

The PMO India in its tweet wrote, “Congratulations to @Pvsindhu1 on emerging victorious in the Korea Open Super Series. India is immensely proud of her accomplishment: PM."

Rajyavardhan Singh Rathor, Sports Minister tweeted saying, “What a brilliant game by @PVSindhu1! Congrats on winning #KoreaSS! India is proud of you! May the victories never stop coming!"

The Indian cricket legend, Sachin Tendulkar, termed Sindhu’s win as ‘victory like none other.’

The legendary cricketer tweeted, “You tried, you failed, you believed and in the end you are an inspiration for the nation! A victory like none other."

Virendar Sehwag, former Indian cricketer on Twitter congratulating Sindhu tweeted, “At 22 Pusarla Venkata Sindhu is a legend. What a player! Congratulations on this stunning finals win. Most breathtaking badminton @Pvsindhu1."

Vijendar Singh, star boxer on Twitter wrote, “She Believed She Could, So She Did. Congrats @Pvsindhu1 First Indian To Win. India Is Proud of You."
