Bangladesh Has No Problem With NRC, Was Assured By PM Modi In New York: Sheikh Hasina

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who is on a four day visit to India on Thursday said she was satisfied with implementation of National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s assurance her on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly that Bangladesh should not be worried about the issue. “I don’t see any problem. I had a talk with Prime Minister Modi. Everything is OK,” the Indian Express quoted Hasina as saying. Ties between India and Bangladesh have been on an upswing in the last few years. Read more…

Maharashtra Polls: BJP Releases Fourth List, No Ticket For Vinod Tawde, Daughter Replaces Eknath Khadse

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its fourth list of seven candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly polls. While the list features only seven names, it is quite significant as it confirms two BJP stalwarts in the state- Eknath Khadse and Vinod Tawade - will not get the ticket this time. Eknath Khadse, who was one of the contenders for the chief minister's post in 2014, have been replaced by his daughter Rohini Khadse from the Muktainagar seat in Jalgaon district. On Gandhi Jayanti, Bapu's Portrait Defaced, Urn Used For Immersing His Ashes Stolen

On Wednesday, when the country was celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi a portrait of the Father of the Nation was defaced at Bapu Bhawan in Laxmanbagh Sansthan by unidentified persons who wrote “deshdrohi” (traitor) over it and also stole an urn which was used for immersing his ashes. Petrol, Diesel Prices Today: Fuel Prices Fall Again- Check Latest Rates In India On Friday, October 4

Petrol and diesel prices saw another big fall on Friday, October 4. This is the second straight day that petrol and diesel prices have come down after days of upward movement. On Friday, the petrol rate decreased by 18-19 paise while diesel rate decreased by 8 to 9 paise accorss India today. US Finalises Sale Of 150 Anti-Tank Missiles To Ukraine Days After Trump Impeachment Probe

The US State Department has approved a sale of military equipment to Ukraine. The deal includes 150 anti-tank missiles to help fight Russia-backed separatists. A Defence Security Cooperation Agency notice says the USD 39.2 million sale includes 10 launch units for the Javelin missiles and related equipment. The US has been providing assistance to Ukraine since Russia-backed separatists invaded in 2014 following the ouster of a Kremlin-backed leader in an Eastern European country that was once part of the Soviet Union.
