New Delhi:

Janata Dal (United) vice-president Prashant Kishor on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on his boss and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and accused him of lying about his claim that he was inducted into the JD(U) following a recommendation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Once a very close aide of Kumar, Prashant Kishor said that the Bihar chief minister was trying to paint him in his own colour.

"Nitish Kumar, what a fall for you to lie about how and why you made me join JDU!! Poor attempt on your part to try and make my colour same as yours!," Kishor wrote on Twitter hours after Nitish Kumar’s claim. He went on to say: "If you are telling the truth, who would believe that you still have courage not to listen to someone recommended by Amit Shah."

Earlier in the day, Nitish Kumar had said that Prashant Kishor can quit the party if he wants to. Kumar was asked about Kishor's recent tweet against Amit Shah. In his response, the Bihar chief minister claimed that the JD(U) vice president, who I now attacking Amit Shah, was inducted into the party on his recommendation.

"Do you know how did he join the party? Amit Shah asked me to induct him,” Kumar said while addressing a press conference.

"Someone wrote a letter, I replied to him, someone is tweeting, let him tweet. What do I've to do with it? One can stay in the party (JD-U) till he wants,he can go if he wants..."

Kumar has also issued a clear and cut warning to Prashant Kishor, saying that he will have to fall in line, if he wants to stay in the party. "Already he (Prashant Kishor) works as a strategist for various parties, but I'm making one thing clear, if he wants to remain in the party he will have to adopt the basic structure of the party," the Janata Dal United (JDU) chief said.

Prashant Kishor has been publicly speaking against the party's decision to support the Citizenship Amendment Act or the CAA in Parliament. He said that he was not consulted by the JD(U) chief before taking a stand in favour of the controversial law. He also asked his boss to unequivocaly reject Amit Shah's plan to implement nation-wide NRC.
