New Delhi:
With the return of the Odd-Even scheme on the roads of Delhi to curb the pollution and reduce traffic congestion, the war of words between the Opposition BJP and state Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has also begun. Delhi BJP chief Vijay Goel has called Kejriwal’s Odd-Even formula a mere publicity stunt and a photo op.
"Arvind Kejriwal only wants to spend on people's tax money for propaganda and he is not interested in reducing pollution and traffic," Mr Goel said today. The BJP leader has also slammed Arvind Kejriwal for the Odd-Even posters showing a smiling Delhi CM across the city, saying he will violate the rules in order to protest.
Kejriwal, on the other hand, has posted newspaper cuttings on social media and has called his Odd-Even scheme a success. He has accused a BJP-linked union of organising an auto rickshaw strike on Monday. On day 1 of the Odd-Even Scheme Phase 2, around 1300 people were caught violating the rule and were fined.
