Pakistan Violates Ceasefire Along LoC In Poonch's Krishna Ghati Sector

The Pakistani army on Thursday violated the ceasefire across the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch’s Krishna Ghati sector at 1545 hours. However, there’s no report of any loss of life or property so far.

Earlier, the Indian Army strongly retaliated after Pakistan resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation across LoC in Rampur and Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

In the Pakistani firing, an Indian Army Subedar (JCO) lost his life. Moreover, the Pakistan Army’s media wing confirmed that two Pak soldiers lost their lives in Dewa sector in the Indian retailiation.

The Pakistan army on Wednesday resorted to heavy shelling by artillery guns and mortars along the LoC in northern Kashmir's Uri sector, prompting befitting retaliation by the Indian army on Wednesday, officials said.

On Sunday also the Pakistan army violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir, a defence spokesperson said. The firing from across the border started in Rajouri's Nowshera sector on Sunday morning and that in Mendhar, Krishna Ghati and Poonch sectors went on overnight, he said.

The Indian Army retaliated befittingly in all sectors and there was no report of any casualty in Pakistani firing, the spokesperson said, adding that casualties suffered by the other side were not known immediately.
