Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday hailed his government's achievements and hit out at the opposition in Lok Sabha on Thursday. Replying to a debate on Motion of Thanks to the President's Address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused Congress and the Left of inciting people while making it clear that the amended citizenship law will neither impact any Indian citizen nor harm minority interests. Defending the CAA, the prime minister said the Congress is having problems when "our govt is taking decisions on wishes of the country's founding fathers".

PM Modi also attacked the Congress for its politics in the last seven decades, saying the party's politics of last 70 years has been such that no Congress leader can be self-sufficient. Attacking the Congress, Modi said a person who was associated with the 1984 anti-Sikh riots was made as chief minister.

Slamming former Jammu and Kashmir chief ministers Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah for their remarks on abrogation of Article 370, Modi said Kashmir's identity was buried on January 19, 1990, when Kashmiri Pandits started leaving the Valley due to militancy.

Elaborating on his government's achievements, the prime minister said the people of the country have seen his government's work between 2014 and 2019 and gave a bigger mandate in 2019.

The President talked about farmers and agriculture in his speech. We solved the long-standing issue of higher MSP. We also brought crop insurance and irrigation related schemes. We raised the budget for agriculture by 5 times: PM Modi 

Bodo Accord signed now is special because it has brought all stakeholders together and we are moving towards a more peaceful era: PM Modi

For years, distance was reason to ignore the Northeast region. They used to think 'Delhi is very far', now we have placed Delhi at their doorstep. Things have changed now. The region is now becoming a growth engine. Great work has been done in so many sectors. Ministers and officials are regularly visiting the region: PM Modi 

In the last 5 years, 37 crore people got bank accounts, 11 crore people got toilets in their homes, 13 crore people got gas connections and more than 2 crore people got their own homes: PM Modi in Lok Sabha

If we had worked according to the old ways and thought processes: Article 370 would never have been history, Muslim women would have kept suffering due to Triple Talaq, Ram Janmabhoomi issue would have remained unsolved, Kartarpur Sahib corridor would not be a reality, There would be no India-Bangladesh land agreement."

Both the Houses of the Parliament will further discuss the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address and the Union Budget 2020 on Thursday.
