The man who identified himself as Sagar Insan is reportedly a supporter of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan.
One person was detained while he was trying to enter the Parliament allegedly with a knife on Monday. After being detained, he was taken to Parliament police station. According to initial report, the man who identified himself as Sagar Insan, is supporter of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. Insan, who is a resident of Delhi's Laxmi Nagar, reported to have shouted slogans in support of Dera Sacha Sauda chief.
According to sources, he was trying to enter the Parliament buiding from the gate number 1. This is a VIP gate. Insan parked his motorcycle in front the gate and then tried to enter the bulding while brandishing a knife. The security guards got hold of him and handed him over to Parliament Street police station.
Gurmeet Ram Raheem is currently in a Rohtak jail for raping his two disciples. He was convicted in two rape cases by a Panchkula court in August 2017. In January this year, a special CBI court in Panchkula sentenced him and three others to life imprisonment for the murder of a journalist over 16 years ago.
