PM to pay tributes to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev on March 23

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay tributes to freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev on their martyrdom day at Hussainiwala in Ferozepur district on March 23.

“Earlier, Modi was slated to pay tributes to the martyrs at Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh’s native village Khatkar Kalan in Nawanshahr, but on being requested, the PM agreed to visit Hussainiwala,” state BJP President Kamal Sharma said in a statement here.

Hussainiwala is a historic place, where the last rites of the Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were performed.

He said the Prime Minister will arrive at Amritsar on March 23 from where he will reach the border village of Hussainiwala in Ferozepur.

“PM will address a function and pay tributes in the afternoon,” Sharma said.

Modi will also pay obeisance at th Golden temple, he said.

Before leaving for New Delhi, he would also visit Jalianwala Bagh in Amritsar as a mark of respect to the freedom fighters, he said.
