Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) international working president Pravin Togadia, while addressing a press conference made very serious charges including conspiracy to kill him in a staged encounter.
Togadia, who broke down while addressing the media said, “I am being targeted for a decade-old case. There is an attempt to suppress my voice. Rajasthan Police team came to arrest me. Someone told me that a plan was being made to kill me in an encounter.”
He gave away very strong hints that the Gujarat and Rajasthan police under political pressure are hounding him.
Togadia said, “I will surrender to the court after I am declared medically fit by the doctors treating me, till then I urge all the VHP cadres to show restraint. Why does the Gujarat police want to carry out a search of my room? I will only let them search in the presence of media and my lawyer. The crime branch should not buckle under political pressure.”
He also claimed that a suspicious man entered the place where he had gone to pray.
The VHP leader, who is a Z Plus category protectee, went missing from the VHP headquarters in Paldi area of Ahmedabad on Monday morning and was found in an unconscious state in Shahibaug area of the city on Monday night from where he was rushed to Chandramani Hospital located in the same area.
