New Delhi:

Days after the landmark judgment in Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title dispute, the copy of the verdict will be presented to Ram Lalla Virajman, one of the litigants in the politically-sensitive case. On November 9, the Supreme Court had backed the construction of the Ram temple on the site while giving away 5 acre of alternate plot for the mosque. The copy of the verdict will be presented to Ram Lalla at a ceremony on November 24. The battery of lawyers who fought the case will also be honoured.

According to an IANS report, the team of about two dozen senior lawyers including Keshav Parasaran, 93, will first attend the felicitation programme and then visit the makeshift temple at Ram Janmabhoomi where they will present the copy of the Supreme Court verdict to the deity. They will also visit the Hanuman Garhi temple.

In the unanimous verdict, the Supreme Court bench led by then Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi had declared Ram Lalla as a juristic person. A juristic person is a non-human legal entity recognised by the law and entitled to rights and duties in the same way as a human being.

Ram Lalla was first represented by a next friend in 1989, when Devki Nandan Agarwal, a judge of the Allahabad High Court, filed a petition in the Faizabad district court in connection with the Ayodhya dispute. TP Varma took his place after his death. In February 2008, Pandey became next friend — a next of friend is a person who acts on behalf of another individual who does not have the legal capacity to act on his or her own behalf. Like other Hindu deities, the infant form of Lord Ram was also deemed a perpetual minor under law.

Meanwhile, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board on Sunday said that it has decided to file a review petition in the Supreme Court over Ayodhya verdict. The decision came after a meeting of AIMPLB to deliberate on whether or not to seek a review of the Supreme Court's verdict on the Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit.

The Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind will also file a review petition challenging the Supreme Court verdict, the prominent Muslim organisation's chief Maulana Arshad Madani said on Sunday.
